What It Means To Work Smarter- Not Harder

 

The path to achieving success is like running a triathlon. It does not follow one straight path, it is faced with many challenges and the completion of the entire course provides the person with much satisfaction. When a person decides to compete in a race, however much he says that he did it for the fun of it, the truth is, people do it for the win. You run, you compete, and you do your best because in every endeavor you decide to take, winning makes the journey worthwhile.

 

Working Hard

 

When people want something so bad, they do everything in their power to achieve it. Sometimes the “want” can be quite blinding and people stretch themselves to the limit, just to be able to touch it with their fingertips. They think that in order to achieve their dreams, they have to give it their all. They do everything, even if they have to sacrifice their relationships, their integrity, and their health. The “wanting” becomes ridden with greed and the pure want of power. When this happens, the game changes... it changes entirely and it can even change you.

 

Working Smart

 

Ambition can be good and bad for a person. When you want something so bad, desperation sets in and if you lose control, you can get into trouble. That is why with everything that you do, always try to keep a clear head. Always take some time to separate yourself from the situation so that you can see things from a different perspective. Working smart is different from  working hard; although it pays to be able to do both at the same time (in moderation). When you finally figure out how to deal with things, you can face any challenge head on. Being able to work smart is a trait that everyone should have because it makes the path to success more pronounced.

 

·         Think before doing. You need to learn to take yourself out of the situation first and assess it before you move forward. Do not make impulsive decisions and do not feel pressured to do anything. Think hard about every decision you make because it will affect the future.

·         Write out a plan. This does not literally mean that you need to have a written account, but it would not help if you do. Envision what you want and write out a step-by-step plan that you wish to take for it.

·         Keep focused. It is normal to sometimes lose your way but try your best to stick to the plan. Keep your vision clear in your head and remember that you are doing this for a reason.

·         Manage your time wisely. There are only twenty-four hours in a day and if you are not smart, you can lose time to unimportant things. Make sure to allot time for everything so that you will not be lost.

·         Be a good leader and delegate. Take charge of your life and be a leader. Do not just go with the flow of the tide; take charge and be in control. Moreover, learn to delegate work to people you trust. Know which things can be delegated and make sure you are giving it to someone who is capable of accomplishing it.

 

Work does not always have to be hard because you can rise above it and be a better person. When you do it right it will feel right, and everything will just fall into place.
